The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) of IAIN Bone held the Opening of the Munaqasyah Examination Session for Batch III of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Wednesday (August 19, 2026). The event took place at the FEBI Hall on the 2nd Floor and was attended by 44 students participating in the munaqasyah examination.
The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated by the Dean of FEBI IAIN Bone, Dr. H. Ahmad Abdul Mutalib, Lc., M.Ag. The opening marked the beginning of the series of munaqasyah examinations for students who had fulfilled the required academic conditions to defend their research and final projects before the examination panel.
In his address, the Dean of FEBI encouraged the students to participate in all stages of the examination as well as possible. The munaqasyah examination is not merely the final stage in completing their studies, but also provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their academic accountability for the process they have undertaken in preparing their theses.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean I of FEBI advised the participants to always pay attention to proper manners and conduct when interacting with lecturers, both during the examination and in academic life in general. According to him, academic ability needs to go hand in hand with respect, courtesy, and proper conduct toward lecturers.
On the occasion, the Vice Dean I also conveyed a message to the students regarding the thesis-writing process. He reminded them that an academic work is not judged solely by its technical perfection, but also by the thinking process and effort that students put into producing it.
In today’s world, a typo in a thesis is not merely a sign of carelessness, but evidence that behind it is a student who is thinking and going through a process.
The message serves as a reminder to students that a thesis is the result of an academic journey involving reading, research, analysis, writing, receiving feedback, and making various revisions.
With the opening of the examination session, the 44 students participating in the Munaqasyah Examination Session for Batch III of the 2025/2026 Academic Year will proceed with the examination stages according to the predetermined schedule. FEBI IAIN Bone hopes that all participants will undertake the munaqasyah process with thorough preparation, uphold academic etiquette, and be able to properly defend and account for the results of their respective research.
