Expanding Financial Sector Insights, HMPS Sharia Banking Holds Industrial Visit to OJK Sulselbar

MAKASSAR, 30 JUNE 2026 – In an effort to broaden the horizons of thinking and strengthen students' understanding of the world of work, the Daily Management Board (BPH) of the Sharia Banking Study Program Student Association (HMPS) successfully held activitiesVisit Industrial. This educational visit was carried out directly at the South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Province Financial Services Authority (OJK) Office in Makassar on June 29 2026.

This activity was attended by the HMPS management and students of the Sharia Banking Study Program, and accompanied by accompanying lecturer, Muhammad Abdi Buhasyim, S.EI., M.Si. This agenda is specifically designed to bridge the theory students gain in college with real practice in the financial services industry.

The series of events began with a warm welcoming session from the OJK, followed by formal introductions between the two parties. Entering the main session, the participants received an in-depth explanation regarding the profile, duties, functions and authority of the OJK in regulating and supervising the banking sector, capital markets and the non-bank financial industry (IKNB). Through this presentation, students are expected to be able to connect lecture theory with practical reality in the field.

Not only that, students are also provided with strengthening material regarding the capital market. This session thoroughly discussed the introduction of investment instruments, transaction mechanisms, the benefits of investment, and the importance of financial literacy for the younger generation.

This visit left a very positive impression on the participants. Muhammad Abdi Buhasyim, S.EI., M.Sc., as accompanying lecturer, expressed his appreciation for the professionalism of the OJK which has very orderly and regular work protocols, but still welcomed their presence with great friendliness and warmth.

Furthermore, he also left a message and great hopes to all Sharia Banking students after participating in this activity. He hopes that students will be able to become financial literacy agents for the wider community, as well as act as social agents to create healthier financial inclusion in the future.
